20 September: Allsvenskan

Halmstad vs Kalmar 20:00 Örjans Vall, Halmstad
Odds 2.90 – 3.10 – 2.20 – Bet NOW at RedKings

This is a relegation battle with Halmstad 15th and in the relegation zone. Kalmar is the first team who are safe as 13th.

The home side is in bad form having lost their last 5 matches. In those matches they only found the net twice and conceded 13 goals. They are now already 7 points behind Jonköpings Södra who are in the relegation play-off position. At home they seem to have a decent 2-3-6 record with 11 goals scored and 17 conceded, but if you take away their 6-1 win over J-Södra, their goal scoring record at home does not look that good.

Kalmar is slowly trying to get them back into safety. They have now played 4 matches without a defeat. They beat Sundsvall and Sirius and then took impressive draws against Elfsborg and IFK Norrköping. Their team is better than the current position shows so this boost in form has been expected. They are a better home team than away. Their away record of 2-2-7 is exactly 13th best in the league. Those two wins though have come in their last 4 away games.

In the first match of the season Kalmar won 2-0 at home.

Prediction: Kalmar is the better team and they are in form so away win.

Östersunds FK vs Malmö FF 20:00 Jämtkraft Arena, Östersund
Odds 2.40 – 3.15 – 2.59 – Bet NOW at RedKings

The in-form team against the leaders Malmö FF. Östersunds FK surprised everyone when they got into the Europa League group stages and even managed to get a win there in the first match. That huge boost of confidence they got has continued into the Allsvenskan and they are currently 6th but only 3 points from a Top-3 position.

Östersunds FK is right now like a runaway locomotive that no one seems to be able to stop. Their performances seem to be just getting better and better. They  have won their last 3 matches with a 10-0 goal difference. They play with confidence and when you have already knocked out Galatasaray and PAOK in Europe, there is no team in Sweden that could intimidate them. They have only lost once at home this season and their current home record is 6-4-1.
Malmö FF had a couple of poor results where they lost to both Eskilstuna and Örebro but bounced back to winning ways with a 4-0 thumbing of Hammarby in the last round. They still lead the Allsvenskan with 6 points margin ahead of Djurgården so the title is still not certain but it is looking very likely. Malmö is currently the best away team in the league with a 7-3-2 record.
Malmö FF won the first match at home 2-1. Last season both teams won away with a 3-goal margin, 1-4 and 0-3.
Prediction: Both teams to score is the main pick but the home win looks also good with the current form that they are in.
Jönköpings Södra vs Sirius 20:00 Stadsparksvallen, Jönköping
Odds 2.18 – 3.05 – 3.00 – Bet NOW at RedKings

This is a match between two teams who are in really bad form. Jönköpings Södra is 14th and they have not won a match in 6 games. Sirius is still 7th, thanks to their good start to the season, but have now lost 4 matches in a row.

Jönköpings Södra has had a poor season so far and are looking at going into the relegation playoffs with the 3rd best team in the Superettan. J-Södra is 5 points behind in-form Kalmar but also have a 7 points gap on Halmstad. With only  rounds to go, it is difficult to see that they can improve enough to get themselves to automatic safety especially as both Sundsvall and Kalmar above them are in such a good form. Their home form is decent with 3-3-5 but their last home win is at the end of July.

Sirius was the surprise team of the season when they started and are still in 7th position but their current form has dropped them from the Euro Cup positions fight as they are now 8 points behind a Top-3 spot. They have lost their last 4 games and they just cannot score goals. In the last round they lost at home to Östersunds FK 0-5. Even though ÖFK is in hot form, you should not lose by such a difference at home to anyone. Sirius is one of the best away teams in the league with a 5-3-3 record. They lost to Kalmar 4-2 in their last away game but before that they beat Halmstad, Elfsborg and GIF Sundsvall on the road and also drew with Malmö FF.

The first match between the teams ended 1-1 in Uppsala.

Prediction: The value is on the visitors, they are the better team. Sirius draw no bet.

Hammarby vs IFK Göteborg 20:00 Tele2 Arena, Stockholm
Odds 2.18 – 3.30 – 2.80 – Bet NOW at RedKings

Hammarby is currently 10th and IFK Göteborg is 9th just 1 point ahead of them. It is looking like a safe mid-table finish for both teams this season.

Hammarby is a very difficult team to beat at the Tele2 Arena as they have lost only once there all season. Their problem has been in turning tight games into wins. Their current home form is 4-6-1 so if they could have won some more of their home games, they would be fighting to go to Europe. Hammarby was on a 4-game unbeaten streak but that came to an end after Malmö battered them 4-0.
IFK Göteborg have not won in 4 matches. They drew 3 of those and one of them they lost to Djurgården. Those draws have been the big problem. Out of their 23 matches, 10 have ended in a draw which is the highest in the league. Eight of those 10 draws have come at home. Their away form is a more normal 4-2-5.
The first match between the teams finished 1-1 in Göteborg.

Prediction: Both teams to score
